The project concerns the construction of a complete energy system based on the installation of a cogeneration unit powered by biogas from the sewage treatment plant in Sława with the ZKF system (closed fermentation chamber). The use of a closed fermentation chamber in the sewage treatment plant operated by ZWiK Sława sp. z o.o. together with a biogas-powered cogeneration unit would allow for a double effect: economically, in the form of a significant reduction in the costs of electricity and heat used in the treatment plant, as well as the ecological avoidance of CO2 and other pollutants emitted into the atmosphere, if electricity produced by cogeneration on the basis of purified biogas were produced in classic coal-fired power plants. In addition, the use of methane fermentation in a separate closed fermentation chamber will allow to achieve a high degree of mineralisation of sediments at low operating costs. The main objective of the project is to increase the share of energy produced in cogeneration in public utility facilities in the Municipality of Sława by building a complete energy system based on the installations of a cogeneration unit together with the system of closed fermentation chamber in the Waterworks and Sewerage Plant Sława Sp. z o.o. The defined main goal and specific objectives respond to problems defined as a result of the analysis of problems. Specific objectives closely linked to the main objective include: — Reduction of electricity demand for facilities of ZWiK Sława Sp. z o.o., – Increasing the use of resources created in the process of waste water treatment (biogas) in the sewage treatment plant in Sława commune, – Reduction of carbon dioxide emissions by using the cogeneration system in ZWiK Sława Sp. z o.o.
