The aim of the Construction Project of the Łódź Agglomeration Railway Stage III is to improve the transport accessibility of the Łódź Voivodeship by improving the transport offer of ŁKA in relations from Łódź to Skierniewice, Sieradz, Kutno and Łowicz, Piotrków Trybunalski, Radomska and Tomaszów Mazowiecki. As part of the project, 10 pieces of electric traction unit type L-4268 Flirt-3 series will be expanded by one factory new non-propelled middle section with a rolling truck designed for regional passenger transport. Project tasks: rolling stock expansion, project management, promotion. Target group residents of the Łódź Voivodeship and visitors travelling to and from work, schools, universities, public and cultural institutions, for tourist purposes. The project will help to improve the cohesion of the region and voivodships, create competitive conditions for travel in relation to individual transport and increase occupational and spatial mobility of inhabitants of the region, increase safety and comfort of travel, including for people with disabilities (doors equipped with buttons marked in Braille’a language, single-spatial seatless interior with the participation of low-floor air conditioning of about 70 %, space for people with reduced mobility of the lanes and wheelchairs of wheelchairs. The planned results of the project’s implementation include an increase in capacity – the total number of seats and standing in the extended vehicles is 383, the number of connections increased by about 14 % on the currently operated routes, the launch of new connections on the section of railway line No. 25 Tomaszów Maz-Opoczno, after electrification in 2023. As part of the project, the Contractor will provide 1 set of all trolleys for the extended Vehicle, i.e. 2 drive trolleys and 2 combined rolling trucks
