The main objective of the project is to revitalise the area bounded by the streets of Legionów, Zachodnia, Ogrodowa and Gdańska in Łódź through integrated and comprehensive activities related to the material-space, social, economic and environmental spheres. The project pursues a number of specific objectives pertaining to each sphere of revitalisation, fulfilling the assumption of the complexity of the whole Project. These include: • improving living, taking up and running business conditions and restoring and giving new functions in the area; • improving the quality of public space and accessibility of the Area and accessibility of public services and road safety, as well as in the Area itself, taking into account facilities for people with disabilities; • the creation of social infrastructure with cultural-educational, training, promotion and information activities aimed at social inclusion of excluded people and combating exclusion; • actions to protect and improve the environment, mainly in terms of reducing noise levels and increasing the amount of greenery and organised green areas. The project has 5 main tasks: 1. Project preparation – Project documentation; 2. Project management and operation; 3. Training, cultural and educational activities; 4. Maintenance renovation and reconstruction of tenements with the development of yards together with the introduction of new functions and purchase of necessary equipment, in buildings at ul. Legionów 20 and ul. Gdansk 8; 5. The development of public space functionally linked to the revitalisation facilities, including the reconstruction of Legionów, Zachodni, Ogrodowa Streets, the development and creation of green public spaces, and the creation of intra-quarter piers. The target group of the Project is residents of Area 8 and Old Polesia, as well as all visitors for commercial or tourist purposes.
