Modernising and equipping COEK Studio – a way to increase accessibility to cultural resources and introduce new forms of participation in culture

The main objective of the project is to improve accessibility to the cultural resources of the Ciechanowski Centre for Cultural Education “STUDIO”, their effective use and extension of access and development of new forms of participation in culture by 31.12.2017. The planned results and activities result from the analysis of demand conducted at COEK Studio in the I and II quarter of 2016 and from the energy audit carried out in the fourth quarter of 2015. The modernisation works include a gallery, a ballet room, a workshop for developing manual skills, a recording studio and the creation and assignment of a new function of the showroom. In addition, warming of the exterior walls of the building will be made, replacement of the old gas boiler room in the building into a heating node powered from the district heating network, reconstruction of the central heating system, installation of the heat pump air/water with a storage tank for the purpose of preparing hot water, replacement of electric lighting from traditional to energy efficient LED type. The result will be a significant improvement in the energy efficiency of the building of 66.61 %. The project provides for technical solutions to improve accessibility to cultural resources for people with disabilities. The project envisages the creation of new forms of participation in culture, i.e. participation in concerts and theatre performances (through the creation of a hall) as an artist, musician, actor and as a spectator; new forms of dance classes thanks to the modernisation of the ballet room and the extension of the current offer with more efficient recording studio work. The new cultural offer of COEK Studio will be addressed to new groups of older people – participants of cultural events in the hall, music bands and vocalists who have not been able to use the recording studio so far. The project assumes an increase in the expected number of visits at COEK Studio by 20 %.
