The growth of the regional tourist potential through the revaluation of the historic tenement house and water tower in Ciechanów and giving them new educational and cultural functions.

The scope of the project consists of two facilities: modernisation of the compensatory tank (a unique technical facility built in 1972, a water tower protected by MPZP records) for water in the Ciechanowa industrial district and the revaluation and adaptation of the tenement house (built in 1925, entered in the register of monuments) in the city centre in order to give them new functionalities for educational and cultural purposes. Both buildings together with the plots on which they are erected are the property of the Municipality of Ciechanów (m-ce realiz. pr: Ciechanów, Mazowieckie Voivodeship) and will be managed by it after completion of the project. There will be development and improvement of accessibility to cultural resources with a broadening of educational offer through the preservation and maintenance of historic sites. Thanks to modernisation and renovation works, both previously unused facilities will be used effectively. The work will include: 1) Maintenance and stabilisation of tower structure, replacement of torus plating, secure all elements through sanding, shaping, lighting and fence with the seating of the educational pavilion; 2) renovation and modernisation works in the building, replacement of roof structure and roof covering, replacement of internal installations, connections and joinery, reconstruction of interior walls, reconstruction of historic facades. The facilities will be adapted to the needs of people with disabilities. After the project, the buildings will be public buildings with new, closely related cultural and educational functions aimed at diverse audiences. The implementation of the investment is part of the thematic areas of the RPO MW for the years 2014-2020 concerning cultural heritage, including conservation, restaurants, revalorisation, modernisation, adaptation of historical buildings and historical monuments, enabling them to provide new functionalities, especially for cultural and educational purposes, and to protect monuments from destruction or theft.
