The project aims to ensure monitoring, evaluation and updating of regional smart specialisation strategies, including through the implementation of tasks related to servicing and strengthening the process of entrepreneurial discovery. The implementation of the project is related to the obligation of the IZ ROP to fulfil and maintain the ex ante condition for the first thematic objective (1 CT). During the negotiations of WM 2014-2020, the Commission pointed out the need for greater involvement of stakeholders in the process of creating, implementing and monitoring Mazovia RIS and smart specialisation. In view of the above, it was recommended to draw up an action plan, specifying the actions planned by the Mazowiecki Voivodeship Local Government to implement intelligent specialisation and RIS Mazovia, in line with the concept of “entreprenential discovery”, based on the RIS methodology3. The plan was prepared and accepted during the negotiations of the RPO of WM with the EC and approved by the Management Board of Mazowiecki Voivodship with Resolution No. 1374/386/14 of 7 October 2014. Thanks to the implementation of the project as part of technical assistance, it will be possible to implement the plan and then maintain the results of the activities implemented, which de facto means fulfilling the obligations imposed by the European Commission, necessary to implement the support from the ERDF under the 1 CT. Its implementation will also contribute to ensuring high-quality processes related to the implementation of regional smart specialisation strategies and strengthening the efficiency of the implementation system of ROP WM 2014-2020. The project will be implemented with cost-effectiveness.
