Popularisation of Zakopane cultural heritage

The project will publish two types of books on People’s Artists in Zakopane and compose during the IFFZG. A photo album will also be released. These publications will bring new insights and perspectives into the culture, art and history of Podhale by providing recipients with information related to important people and events for the whole Polish culture. The books will include biographies of artists and interviews. Books will serve masters and doctoral students for scientific purposes. It will also be the popularisation of art fields, which are cultivated by artists. The project will include the organisation of development workshops with the participation of well-known creators of various fields of folk art in Podhale. An important element of the project will be cultivating traditions related to the dying professions. During workshops and other educational activities, the audience will be presented with a theoretical aspect related to the art of embroidery, furry, playing the Podhale pipes and the creation of regional products from paper. Participants of these meetings will be able to perform individual elements related to a given product themselves. The project will serve cultural education by directing the offer to children and schoolchildren, as well as for students and PhD students who create the thesis on Zakopane culture. The benches in the city will popularise music related to the Zakopane region and refer to the places dedicated to composers. An important element of the project is the reconstruction of works of art from the Pegasus gallery, primarily a collection of painting works, graphics, sculptures that the city owns and can be shown as an exhibition in Zakopane as well as an exhibition away. These are very interesting works by artists of the twentieth century, whose restoration will allow the rediscovery of the modern Zakopane School of Painting and Sculpture, which will be rediscovered in point C.2.
