Preservation of the cultural heritage of Kędzierzyn-Koźla through renovation, revalorisation and reconstruction of the historic castle complex.

The project aims to improve the state of preservation and restore the historical appearance of the cellar part of the historic castle complex in Koźl. The facility will be made available to residents of the city and to tourists. It will become a new place to organise events promoting the history and culture of the region as part of the activities of the Museum of Koziel Land. The choice of location is due to the importance of building and the historical value it carries with it. The query conducted by the Office of the Provincial Conservator of Monuments in Opole shows that the remains of the th century tower in the courtyard of Kozel Castle are the oldest brick building in the Opole Voivodeship, and perhaps even the remains of the oldest brick stool in Poland. Therefore, these relics will be covered with a special dome, and the resulting underground room will become an integral part of the product of the project, which is the Museum of Kozielska Land – an object adapted to the needs of people with disabilities (1). The support is intended to include a real-estate monument (1) – cellars of the former castle building entered in the register of monuments of the Opolskie Voivodeship on 21.04.1964 (Decision No 829/64). The project will finance improvements for people with disabilities (e.g. by purchasing and using software to translate the text into Braille). The project also provides support for movable monuments (maintenance of 5 museums). The project will include: •construction work, including the adaptation of Renaissance castle cellars to the exhibition rooms of the Museum of Koziel Region and the construction of a new entrance pavilion with a staircase combined with a new underground hall for exposition of the discovered relic, •conducting the preservation of museums(5), acquisition of movable equipment intended to be placed in the above-mentioned spaces covered by the project, •taking information and educational activities to promote culture and culture.
