The project will be implemented at ul. Bridge 1 in Kędzierzyn-Koźl, in the sub-area of AZOTY, designated for revitalisation due to the particular concentration of negative social phenomena and important importance for the development of the city. It concerns the degraded sports and recreational complex Azotor, erected in the years 1970-74, which lost its functional functions. The investment aims at restoring these functions and providing new, not yet completed, including educational ones, which will contribute to the activation of poor and at risk of social exclusion from different age groups. The creation of the Katowice-Koziel Activity Centre (KKCA), in cooperation with MOPS, MOSiR and the CHEM-STER Specialist Chemistry cluster, will allow the creation of a single complex of objects, in the area covered by the revitalisation area. 28540 m². The project’s share for the area covered by the revitalisation programme will be 100 %. The project will include: — reconstruction and expansion of the existing social and hotel building together with the change of its use into the functions of the indoor swimming pool, – refurbishment of the cloakroom and sanitary facilities building, – refurbishment of the existing outdoor recreational pool, – water playground, three fields for beach volleyball, – elements of small architecture, – refurbishment of the existing parking lot, – remodeling of two exits from ul. Bridge, necessary installations and equipment. The facility will be adapted to the needs of people with disabilities (extensive section VII). The facility will carry out activation programs that could not be implemented without renovation of the infrastructure. The programmes will include: promoting healthy nutrition and active lifestyle in cooperation with local entrepreneurs, activation of seniors, education and numerous cultural activities, including reading poetry, playing on an instrument, singing and artistic shows as part of sustainability.
