Project BC: “Make a colonoscopy for your concern and for your loved ones. Support for the national programme of prevention of colorectal cancer in Podlaskie voivodship" will be implemented by the Białostock Centre oncology in partnership with the Provincial Hospital in Suwałki. The main objective of the project is to prolong the working age and reduce the mortality of residents by increasing the reporting rate to participate in colonoscopic studies carried out within the framework of the national programme for the prevention of colorectal cancer. The project involves recruiting and educating at least 2000 people and performing colonoscopic tests in at least 1000 people. The project focuses on eliminating important barriers (e.g. awareness barrier, economic-organisational, psychological) in access to diagnostic tests, including through educational activities, as well as organizational activities such as providing access to research or care for dependent and tested persons with anaesthesia. The project’s target group consists of inhabitants of Podlasie Voivodeship, who according to the rules of the competition, p. 20 shall meet the following criteria: people aged 50 to 65 years, regardless of family history, 40-49 years of age who have a first-degree relative who has been diagnosed with colorectal cancer, aged 25-49 years from a family with Lynch syndrome. Including in particular: people who live in counties not covered by the colon cancer screening programme, people who live in villages below 20 inhabitants, especially in rural areas.
