School of Challenges

The project is addressed to students of the John Paul II Elementary School No.3 with junior high school no. 2 in Siemiatycze and Ignacy Gilewski Junior High School No.1 in Siemiatycze – 180 pupils (82K and 98 M) and up to 26 teachers (19K and 7M). Numerous studies at school identify identical needs and deficits in areas that require support at general education. Thus, the intervention defined in the project includes actions that will foster the strengthening of the role of key competences, such as: the ability to communicate in foreign languages, the ability to reason with mathematicians and relevant to the sciences of nature and technology. Moreover, there is still a need for students to invest in the competences and skills of modern information and communication technologies. Serious deficits have been diagnosed among school teachers in the area of ICT use during classes. All of the above elements of support will be enriched by intervention aimed at raising pupils’ attitudes and skills needed in the labour market, i.e. entrepreneurship, teamwork, innovation creativity including through the implementation of professional advice The above-mentioned projects will not be possible without absolute inclusion in the scope of support of complementary measures aimed at equipping schools with technical infrastructure necessary for the development of the competences referred to above in pupils. Given that the quality of teaching is largely determined by the quality of teachers‘work, it is also necessary to provide comprehensive and complementary support in the form of measures to improve teachers’ professional training in the above thematic areas.
