The aim of the project is to improve the transport system of the city by changing the course of voivodship roads No. 653 and 655 within the administrative boundaries of the city of Suwałk, which consists of the construction of a new G-class road on the section from ul. Sejneńska to ul. Loss with the construction of a tunnel under the Suwałki-Sokółka railway line and a bridge over the Black Hańcza river, as well as the expansion of Sejneńska Street from the administrative borders of the town of Suwałki to the railway crossing to i.e. from km 33 + 625.75 to km 35+ 548. The project has two tasks: — Task 1: reconstruction of St. Sejneńska located along the Voivodeship Road No. 653 on the section with a length of approx. 1922 m from km 33 + 625.75 to km 35 + 548.00 i.e. from Młynarska Street to the administrative border of the city of Suwałki. — Task 2: construction of a new G-class road on the section from ul. Sejneńska to ul. Loss (L. 1512.72 m) along with the construction of a tunnel under the Suwałki-Sokółka railway line and the bridge over the Czarna Hańcza river, extension of ul. Loss in the section from the hive. Staniszewskiego to St. Merecki (541.13 m). The main objective of the project is to increase the transport accessibility of the city of Suwałki and the region in road traffic. The project will serve to improve spatial cohesion in the intra-regional, interregional and better integration of transport infrastructure serving the city of Suwałki, classified as tertiary nodes with the TEN-T network. The planned investment will also reduce congestion and limitations of the capacity of voivodship roads No. 653 and 655 in the city of Suwałki. Sources of financing for eligible costs of the project: — ERDF: 35 602 160,51 PLN – budget of the City of Suwałki: 19 234 061,80 PLN Including: 54 836 222,31 PLN – ineligible costs: 4 502 344,27 PLN Total cost of the project: 59 338 566,58 PLN Period of implementation of the project: from 14.09.2015 to 31.01.2020 (project completion date – signing of the final receipt protocol).
