Green energy sources for public buildings in Puńsk Municipality

Type of project 2: Energy based on renewable energy sources. The project envisages the construction of infrastructure which will be used for the production of electricity and heat from RES. It will be solar installation and 3 photovoltaic installations. The project will be implemented in the municipality of Puńsk, which is a rural community. The investment will cover 3 public buildings. The power of the planned solar and photovoltaic systems was selected based on the amount of demand for electricity and heat by the building. Photovoltaic installations will be installed on the roof of a building or assembly structure on the ground, on the plot on which the building is located. It is assumed to connect the photovoltaic system to the network – type of installation on grid. Electricity prosumers will produce it for their own needs (concurrent production and consumption of energy). Excess electricity from the site of the installation will be introduced into the network of the local distribution system operator. Solar collector installations will use solar energy to support the production of hot water (c.w.u.) in the Lithuanian Culture House. Heat will be generated for the own needs of the facility (concurrent production and consumption of energy). Solar collectors will be located on the roof of the building. The project fits into the assumptions of SZOOP RPO WP 2014-2020. The project will increase energy efficiency at the level of consumption, increasing the share of RES in the municipal energy balance. Local energy security will be enhanced through diversification of sources and energy supply. The investment will improve the environment by reducing CO2 emissions. The cost-effectiveness of RES energy production equipment is PLN 3 457.2/kW. The project foresees a reduction of CO2 emissions by 83.05 Mg CO2 (34.6 %). The own contribution to the project is 30 % (own contribution was increased by 15 %).
