Improve energy efficiency and control air condition in the city of Szczuczyn, through the replacement of luminaires and the construction of a pollution measurement system

The municipality of Szczuczyn intends to implement a project consisting of modernisation of the street lighting system (463 light points) in the urban part and the construction of a pollution measurement station (measuring PM10 dust level), together with a system for informing about their concentration of residents. The contest in which the applicant applies relates to low-carbon strategy projects excluding BOF, Type 3: 3. Installation/installation of energy-efficient lighting in municipalities or public utility facilities and lighting control systems (street) and Type 5-5. Pollution measurement systems in cities (such as PM10 dust and benzo(a)pyrene) and public information systems. The main objective of the project is to improve the state of the environment, including, above all, improving the air quality on the local scale, by modernising lighting and building a pollution measurement system in Szczuczyn during the second quarter of 2018 to II quarter of 2019. The project will be implemented in the second quarter of 2018 and the second quarter of 2019. The eligible value of the project is less than PLN 1 million, of which 78 % is a grant. The project will have a positive impact on the protection of the environment and human health, resulting in an ecological effect of CO2 reduction (by 77.62 %). As a result of the project, it is planned that the lighting system’s operating capacity after modernisation will be 11.29 kW and the total primary energy savings will be 473882 kWh. The improvement of air quality will be achieved by avoided emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere as a result of the conversion of energy-inefficient sodium fixtures with accessories to energy-efficient LED fixtures.
