The project concerns the modernisation of the luminaires of 2184 street lighting units in the city of Suwałki. The main objective of the project is to improve the state of the environment, including, above all, improving air quality in the city of Suwałki and the region of north-eastern Poland. Reducing emissions of pollutants that are particularly harmful to the quality of life of people, such as SO2, CO2, CO,NOx or PM10 will contribute to improving the quality of life of the inhabitants of Suwałki and in the north-eastern part of Poland. Modernisation activities will contribute to improving the energy efficiency of street lighting in Suwałki City. Old fittings that do not meet the latest standards generate increased energy demand, increase emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere, increase the cost of lighting maintenance and create undesirable phenomena, e.g. Polluting with light. Modernisation consisting of the exchange of sodium and mercury luminaires with LED luminaires, which will significantly reduce operating costs, reduce emissions of harmful gases into the atmosphere and eliminate the above-mentioned undesirable phenomena. 2,184 lighting fittings will be upgraded. Old sodium and mercury street lighting luminaires will be replaced by modern LED housings with an aluminum housing with autonomous power reduction, including 7 lamps will be powered by photovoltaic panels.
