The main objective of the project is to strengthen the innovation and competitiveness of the Podkarpackie region by creating an Interdisciplinary Centre for Preclinical and Clinical Research. The objective will be achieved by building a suitable space and equipping it with modern equipment and research equipment. Thanks to this, the Central Podkarpacka Animal Experience – an institution without its counterpart in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship will be created. The facility will be accessible to third parties, including companies interested in R & D. The infrastructure will meet recognised market needs in terms of biomedical research at virtually every level, i.e. from molecular, biophysical to in vitro and in vivo tests. This will allow for the introduction of the results of R & D works into the company’s business practice, and thus they will be marketed. It means that the objectives of the project are consistent with the main objective of Action 1.1 ROP WP 2014-2020 and the thematic objective of PI 1a RPO of the HR for 2014-2020, i.e. ‘improving research and innovation infrastructures and enhancing capacity for excellence in research and innovation and supporting centres of competence, in particular those of European interest’. This is reflected in the results of the project as set out in point C.3.1 of this application for funding. The implementation of the project will allow to exploit the innovation potential of the Podkarpackie region in the areas of biomedical, biotechnological and pharmaceutical industries. The importance of the project for the region is evidenced by the fact that it was included in the Territorial Contract for the Podkarpackie Region. The project is carried out in a scientific consortium with the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. The consortium will implement a research programme with the University of Rzeszów, as part of a plan for the use of the R & D infrastructure.
