The main objective of the project is to improve air quality as a result of reducing emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere in the municipality of Stalowa Wola. The following specific objectives are to be achieved, inter alia: modernising the process of heat generation by increasing the efficiency of the combustion of fuels, reducing emissions of harmful gases and dust into the atmosphere, facilitating the operation of energy sources and improving the thermal comfort of residential buildings. As a result of the project, the structure of heat production will be changed by increasing the share of condensation gas boilers and renewable energy sources (boilers per biomass) at the expense of fossil fuels in the area of the supported municipality. The project will also contribute to improving social and territorial cohesion, in terms of equalising access to efficient systems producing heat, which will help reduce the level of energy poverty. The project will cover 74 households, in which a total of 54 condensation gas boilers and 20 biomass boilers will be installed. The total power of installed boilers is 1702 kW, including condensation boilers – 1347 kW, biomass boilers – 355 kW. The area of premises in single-family buildings affected by the change of heat sources will be 10932 m². The construction of installations distributing hot water will concern 2 364 households (apartment in 52 multi-family buildings). The total area of the premises covered by the project in multi-family buildings will be 162297.06 m². The total area of the premises covered by the project will be 173229.06 m². In connection with the implementation of the project, the following result indicators have been identified: Estimated annual decrease in greenhouse gas emissions – 1 677,73 [tonnes of CO2 equivalent]; Estimated annual decrease in PM-10-10 769,52 [kg/year] emissions; Number of households to benefit from the project’s effects – 2438 pcs.
