This project is addressed to children of preschool age, who use the services of local self-government nurseries in the City of Gdańsk. Its aim is to increase access to pre-school education in Gdańsk by creating new, sustainable preschooling places. The project will create 28 full kindergarten wards for a total of 668 children aged 3 to 6. This will be achieved by equipping 3 new kindergartens, modernising and/or equipping 3 existing facilities. The following is a list of supported kindergartens, together with the work to be done within the Project: • Kindergarten at ul. Damroki – equipment of the facility, 10 preschool branches will be created, • Kindergarten at ul. Dąbka – equipment of the facility, creation of 7 branches, • kindergarten at ul. Colorful – equipment of the facility, creation of 6 branches, • Kindergarten No. 39 – modernisation and equipment of the facility, creation of 1 new branch, • Kindergarten No. 81 – modernisation and equipment of the facility, creation of 1 new branch, • Kindergarten No. 43 – facility equipment, creation of 3 new branches. The criteria for selecting the objects covered by potential support under the Project were reported needs under the document “Diagnosis of the needs of kindergarten in Gdańsk in the scope of a project aimed at creating permanent preschooling places” approved on 24.03.2016 (with the update dated 31.07.2019) by Deputy Mayor Piotr Kowalczuk and the location of the facilities and technical possibilities of their modernisation. As part of the investment work, all the institutions mentioned above will be adapted for the reception of people with disabilities. The foreseeable duration of the project is set at 54 months from the date of completion, which will be longer than the period of implementation of the Project.
