The subject of the project is the construction of the B-1 retention tank on the Borkowski Potok, in Borkowo in the Pruszcz Gdański Commune. The total capacity of the tank will be 46.5 thousand m³. The main objective of the project is to improve flood safety by increasing retention capacity in the high-rise part of Gdański Forest, located in the water catchment area of the Raduni Canal. Completion of the task will minimise the maximum tributaries to the Canal, reduce the speed of water in the Borkowski creek and St. Wojciech and will limit the reduction of their cross-section. This will generally improve flood safety in the Radunia Canal basin, which is exposed to high flood risk as a result of hydrological conditions, strong anthropogenic pressure and extreme weather conditions. Residents of areas exposed to floods from the areas of Pruszcz Gdański and Gdańska will benefit directly from the project.
