Restoration of a fragment of defensive walls in Żory and its use for cultural purposes.

The object of the project is the renovation of the defensive walls with the execution of piercing through the wall and reconstruction of the dry moat in and part of the walled street, as well as the development of the area. In addition, a wooden footbridge is planned to bridge the difference in the level of the terrain and to overcome the dry moat. The first section of the bicycle path under the walls will also be made. The renovated infrastructure will be made available for cultural and educational purposes. The Old Town still retains a medieval urban layout based on the oval. As a monument marked with the letter A in the Register of Silesian Provincial Monuments Conservator, by decision No. 585/66 the urban layout of the old town, which is an important element of defence walls, is inscribed. However, due to the great historical importance of artists. of fundamental importance for culture, the defence walls of Żora were subject to additional protection by means of a separate entry in the Register No 574/66.
