The project concerns reconstruction and adaptation to new economic and social functions (activation, inclusion, incubation, etc.) of the oldest and largest of the 5 buildings of the Old Railway Station in Katowice – the facility at ul. Station 8. The work planned for the period 2020-22 will include: — reconstruction and protection of a devastating monument – building roofs and replacing ceilings – conservation program, thermal modernisation and window replacement – required by regulations and standards of infrastructure: water and sewerage, heating, gas, technological heat, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical infrastructure, monitoring, dehydration – reconstruction and adaptation of rooms – construction of entrance stairs with a lift for wheelchairs – retrofitting the social service zone with equipment and necessary elements, enabling the implementation of ESF activities for children, young people, excluded persons and incubation zones. Thanks to the project, Dworcowa 8 will receive a second life. The project is addressed to 7955 people (30.01 % of the city’s inhabitants).
