The main objective of the project is to improve the living conditions of residents of Starachowice by modernising public lighting infrastructure contributing to reducing energy consumption and reducing air pollution.The scope of the project is part of the Regional Operational Programme of Świętokrzyskie Voivodship for the years 2014-2020 and is in line with action 3.4 Low-carbon strategy, support for sustainable multimodal urban mobility and its specific objective, i.e. to reduce emissions of particulates and harmful substances to the atmosphere. The scope of the project includes modernisation of street lighting sources – 4072 pieces, replacement of booms for luminaires, supply pipes for luminaires, contactors and fuses, installation of lighting control and management system and installation of passive power compensators. The project is based on the approved “Low-Emission Economy Plan for Starachowice Municipality”. Planned for use in the project, LED technology is characterised by high light efficiency, giving a significant stream of light with low electricity consumption. Implementation of the project in Starachowice will contribute to the construction of a more competitive low-carbon economy of Świętokrzyskie voivodship, which reduces pollution emissions in an efficient and sustainable way. Installation of the lighting control and management system will reduce electricity consumption by about 1596.42 MWh/year. As a result of the project, the result indicator: The estimated annual decrease in greenhouse gas emissions will be 1328.22 tonnes/year.
