The planned project consists of the reconstruction, renovation, maintenance of 5 historic buildings and the development of their surroundings. The implementation of the project will ensure a comprehensive protection of these facilities against destruction, adapting them to the needs of people with disabilities (3 pieces) and cultural and tourist activities in order to increase the availability of cultural resources of the region to visitors of Szydłów. The building of the former synagogue, the seat of the Municipal Cultural Centre requires major renovation and reconstruction and retrofitting in order to increase the cultural and tourist offer. There will be support for cultural institutions – 1 pieces. It is also planned to develop the adjacent area through partial reconstruction of the perimeter walls, greenery equipment and the construction of recreational facilities for children, the construction of alleys and squares. “The Knights Hall” of the former castle, “Skarbczyk” and the castle gate are the objects included in the castle complex in Szydłów used as cultural and tourism objects, requiring expenditure to protect against destruction and retrofit. In order to increase the attractiveness of the objects, it is planned to enrich the exhibition with modern ICT media. The ruins of the church and the Holy Spirit hospital require protection against total destruction. The security and renovation of these facilities will increase the availability of these facilities for tourists, history and architecture researchers and will increase the attractiveness of cultural events organised in and around the facilities. Increasing the attractiveness and accessibility of modernised facilities will increase the number of visitors, which will create new jobs in the surroundings of the project. The visibility of the medieval royal residence, in which the western chamber of the Knights Hall is one of the few best preserved medieval royal residences in the whole of the former Kingdom of Poland, will increase the tourist attractiveness of the region.
