The aim of the project is to increase energy efficiency in the district of Chęciny by reducing the power of installed lighting devices. The investment will result in a significant reduction in the energy intensity of the system through the implementation of energy-efficient lighting equipment with the highest performance. The project consists of modernising the system by replacing existing luminaires with sodium light sources with energy-saving LEDs. Emissions from electricity generation will be reduced and primary fuel consumption will be reduced. Led luminaires allow to obtain much more light with reduced electrical energy consumption. The most important argument in favour of modernisation is the possibility of reducing expenditure on electricity and maintenance of light points and the significant failure of the solutions used. The scope of activities shall include the following localities: Bolmin, Chęciny, Łukowa, Copper, Bridges, Ostrów, Polichno, Przymiarki, Radkowice, Siedlce, Skiby, Starochęciny, Tokarnia, Wolica, Wrzosy. The objectives of the project are in line with the objectives of: Priority Axis 6, priority 4e Reduced emissions of harmful substances into air in the KOF area. ZIT KOF strategy Objective 5 Improving energy efficiency and investment in renewable energy sources. Indicators: Amount of electricity saved – 470,46 MWh/year Number of modernised municipal lighting sources -1450 pieces Estimated annual reduction in greenhouse gas emissions -470.46 t
