The aim of the project is to develop the existing spaces – banks of the Pisa River, for tourism and recreational purposes, including the expansion of the recreational area through the creation of the Municipal Park, which will serve recreation and active spending time by residents of the city and the municipality of Barczewo. In the developed recreational area, popularly known as the Urban Park, the following will be created: “Wave” recreation area with wave-shaped benches and a view of the park; children’s playgrounds, slide gutters, climbing wall, recreational terrace, tyrolka, outdoor gym. In accordance with the assumptions set out in the SzOOP RPO WiM for OP Culture and heritage, it is also envisaged to develop the area (its ordering, infrastructure facilities in the form of benches and tables, waste bins, information boards). There will also be a canoeing dock with sanitary facilities in the form of a catcher with sanitary facilities, which constitute two toilets suitable for disabled people. As part of the investment, a reconstruction of the resistance wall is also planned at ul. The National Army of 1 and 1a, which is in a very poor technical condition, threatening a construction disaster. The function of the resistance wall will be to protect against existing wall cracks and landslides. The project is part of the activities foreseen under the Prioprite Axis Culture and Heritage 6 Culture and Heritage Action 6.2 Natural heritage, Sub-measures 6.2.3 Efficient use of resources, since it includes the development of existing space in the area of Barczew for tourism and recreational purposes, land use (its ordering, infrastructure facilities in the form of benches and tables, waste bins, information boards).
