The subject of the project is revitalisation and flexibility of the banks of the Warta River and increasing its retention on the section between the road bridge Przemysła I (246,00 km) to the fork of the river in Poznań (243.50 km). The current concrete fortifications on the left and right banks of the river will be replaced by baskets and gabion mattresses filled with stone and reinforced with wooden rosewood. The basic advantages of mattresses are their flexibility and permeability. Deformed or washed, they adapt without being destroyed. Baskets and mattresses, after filling them with stone, will be replenished with ground and then closed with a biomame to ensure proper grass growth. The task also includes the renovation of existing staircases, terraces and the repair of slippers, as they represent the necessary infrastructure of the river’s banks in the built-up area. Measures taken under the project will protect the river banks from erosion, which poses a threat to adjacent infrastructure and aggravates the conditions for the flow of refractory waters. The actions are focused on ecological solutions, and natural materials, i.e. stone and wood, will be used. Concrete slabs will be eliminated from the current ecosystem, which limit the absorption of water into the ground.Completely, the task will include renovation works with the following breakdown into elements:- revitalisation of the trough slope – stairs and terraces – slippers – outlets The project is implemented in partnership, which was concluded between the City of Poznań and PGW Wody Polskie RZGW in Poznań. As a result of the joint implementation of the project, the results achieved are intended to meet the needs of both parties, i.e. meet the objectives of improving water management in the city centre and at the same time respond to the needs of the residents. The planned project, as well as detailed technical solutions, is fully adapted to the projected climate change. capacity of small retention objects: approx. 255, m³ of performance in 2020
