The main objective of the project is therefore to improve the quality of ambient air by balancing urban mobility as a result of the construction of alternative routes to the city centre. As a result of this project, road traffic will be reduced through the construction of a network of cycle routes, which in the longer term will contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions mainly generated by individual car transport. Within the scope of the project is the construction of two bicycle roads (the section Nad Świna, section ul. The spa) and two tracks on foot – bicycles (section of ul. Yacht, section of st. Barlicky) in Świnoujście. The course of the new sections of bicycle roads will be complementary to the existing course of cycling routes and will enable users of individual bicycle transport to reach the ferry crossing, the interchange node at the street. Dworcowa/Barlicki in Świnoujście as well as large workplaces and schools located mainly from the right-bank part of the city. The implementation of this investment task will therefore improve the communication of the City, as well as reduce the number of cars using ferry crossings. The safety of road users at sensitive points of the city will also be improved. The implementation of the project will contribute to distracting the relevant objective and the target value of the indicator specific to projects aimed at rebuilding the infrastructure system of the integrated public transport system in order to reduce traffic in urban centres. The project contributes to strengthening the integrity and functionality of the SOM and is fully complementary to other projects planned to be implemented under the ITI Strategy. The final result of the project will therefore be the development of sustainable multimodal urban mobility and adaptation measures to mitigate climate change within the SOM.
