Salmon and company – shaping the environmental behaviour of the local population of Zachodniopomorskie voivodship

The implementation of the project will be directed mainly to the local community and various groups of stakeholders benefiting from the natural bagatility of the river basins of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. Part of the project addressed to children and schoolchildren, will be implemented in the Centre for Ecological Education in Lipie, which is the budget unit of the ZMiGDP. In addition to knowledge on the impact of poaching on biodiversity loss, participants will participate in ZMiGDP’s restocking, river water quality research and knowledge of the rich fauna and flora of river valleys. During the workshops, meetings will also be organised with fishermen’s guards and representatives of police and municipal guards, who will talk about the most spectacular anti-powder actions. All children participating in the workshop will receive brochures on the harmfulness of poaching, asking them to hand them over to their parents. In kindergartens, stationary classes will be conducted by specialised educators. In addition, as part of the project, the action will be directed to schools and kindergartens, initiated by the Gaja Club “Adopt the River”, in which individual schools will take care of a selected section of the river or its tributary. The adoption of the river will consist of cleaning the river and its banks, documenting fauna and flora, examining the quality of water and monitoring it, locating architectural barriers preventing the movement of fish. An element of the project addressed to adults are brochures and informers aimed at the local community as well as tourists and anglers. Information materials will be distributed free of charge using local wheels and fishing shops, tourist information points, schools and kindergartens. The project will also publish 2 educational books for the youngest participants of the project: kindergarteners and children of classes I to III: Salmon and Company and Underwater Adventures of Gregory Eel
