The project will consist of: deepening the approach track on the Policki Canal to 10.5 m (with the possibility of extending it in the next stage to 12.5 m) along with an extension in the bottom to 100 m, and deepening and widening of the Kielpiński Canal (to a depth of 3 m and a width of 25 m) along with an approach (up to 3.2 m depth and maximum width to 35 m) and a bend (to a depth of 3.0 m and a width of 35 m), as well as from the strengthening of the Skrpiński Island of Ostrów. The investment also includes the purchase of two light basins in the Policki Canal and two daily basins on the approach to the Kiel Canal. The project is part of the infrastructure providing access to the port in Police, and its implementation aims to improve access to the port. The main objective is to maintain sea-side accessibility of the port in Police, in order to maintain its current economic position and create the conditions for further development. The current technical parameters of the access infrastructure in the region under review are insufficient for ship handling, which will also be able to handle the expanded Port in Police. The length of modernised waterways as a result of the project – 2.12 km. Immediately after the completion of the project, it is possible to use the full functionality of the infrastructure and does not require additional activities (other projects, etc.) for its full use. The project in question is eligible for funding under ROP WZ 2014-2020, Action 5.7 for the following reasons: — consists of carrying out works on the waterway, which will contribute to the region’s accessibility by water transport, especially in the SOM area, – concerns 2 types of projects defined in the Competition Regulations – type 1: Construction, extension or upgrading of public navigable infrastructure, type 2: Improve the quality of waterways leading to ports along the Odrzańska Waterway and the Świnoujście-Szczecin waterway.
