SAFMAT is a strategic project of the FZÚ, which aims to strengthen the ability to carry out competitive interdisciplinary research on the border between physics, material science, medicine, especially in the field of characterisation of surfaces and bulk defects. In addition to the preparation of optical crystals and thin layers by physical methods, it focuses on complex analysis of their properties in order to understand observed phenomena especially in the field of scintilators, chemical sensors, optical and metallic materials and biomaterials.
