THE AIM OF THE PROJECT IS TO SET UP A LABORATORY FOCUSED ON THE MANUFACTURING AND CHARACTERISATION OF PHYSICAL, CHEMICAL AND BIOLOGICAL SENSORS FOR MONITORING OF THIS ENVIRONMENT, THE TECHNOLOGIES USED TO ACHIEVE THIS AIM WILL BE DECOUPLED FROM THE TRADITIONAL TECHNIQUES OF ELECTRONICS (PARTICULARLY ENERGY-INTENSIVE AND WITH A HIGH ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT) IN FAVOUR OF SO-CALLED PRINTING TECHNIQUES (INKJET, SCREEN PRINTING, SPRAY DEPOSITION) FOR THE DEPOSITION OF NANOMATERIALS SYNTHESISED AD HOC. \ NBY USING THESE TECHNIQUES, IT IS POSSIBLE TO GREATLY REDUCE THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT (DEPOSITION IS CARRIED OUT AT LOW TEMPERATURE AND IN NON-PROHIBITIVE WEATHER CONDITIONS) AS WELL AS TO OBTAIN SENSORS AND ACTUATORS ON NON-STANDARD SUBSTRATES (SUCH AS PLASTICS, PAPER OR FABRIC), WHICH MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO OPEN NEW RESEARCH AREAS AND MARKET SEGMENTS.\ THE LABORATORY WILL BE DIVIDED INTO THREE SEPARATE FUNCTIONAL AREAS: A DEVICE FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF SENSORS, ONE TO THE EXECUTIVE SUMMARY AND THE DEVIL.
