THE AIM OF THE PROJECT IS TO DEVELOP AN INNOVATIVE PROTOTYPE OF LITHIUM BATTERY MODULE FOR USE IN AUTOMOTIVE, TO OPTIMISE THEIR PERFORMANCE, TOGETHER WITH A REDUCTION IN THE WEIGHT OF THE COMPONENT. THE ASPECTS TO WHICH THE DEPLOYMENT OF ELECTRIC AND HYBRID VEHICLES ARE RESTRICTED ARE: THE REDUCED USEFUL LIFE OF THE BATTERIES, LOSS OF PERFORMANCE DUE TO UNEVEN DISTRIBUTION OF TEMPERATURE OF CELLS, HIGH WEIGHT AND LONG CHARGING TIMES. THE DESIGN OF THE BATTERY MODULE WILL BE CARRIED OUT USING AN INTEGRATED APPROACH USING OPTIMISATION TECHNIQUES BASED ON SIMULATIONS TERMO-FLUIDIDAMICHE FOR COOLING DOWN THE MODULE AND SMART ELECTRIC MANAGEMENT OF THE STATE OF CHARGE. IN ADDITION, VALIDATION TESTS WILL BE CARRIED OUT DIRECTLY ON THE MODULE AND ON THE BATTERY PARCEL. SOLUTIONS WILL BE DEVELOPED THAT WILL REDUCE CHARGING TIME, WITHOUT AFFECTING THE USEFUL LIFE OF THE PROJECT.
