THE OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT ‘DEVELOPMENT OF NON-INVASIVE INNOVATIVE METHODS FOR CLINICAL DIAGNOSIS’ IS TO DEVELOP A METHOD FOR THE IDENTIFICATION OF MOLECULAR MARKERS IDENTIFYING DISEASES BY USING THE INFORMATION FROM BIOLOGICAL FLUIDS FROM BIOLOGICAL FLUIDS OF PATIENTS WITH DIFFERENT PATLOGY. THE RESULTING NON-INVASIVE METHOD IS TO INCLUDE IN THE SCENARIO OF INTEGRATED DIAGNOSTICS AND PRECISION MEDICINE THAT ARE BECOMING INCREASINGLY RELEVANT FOR THE EARLY DIAGNOSIS OF CONDITIONS, ASSESSMENT OF PATHOLOGICAL STATES AND THERAPEUTIC MONITORING. THE ADVENT OF THE NEW GENERATION SEQUENCING TECHNOLOGY (NGS) ADDED A NEW DIMENSION TO GENOMIC RESEARCH BY GENERATING SEQUENCING DATA USING MASS AND ULTRA-FAST METHODS AND COULD FURTHER BE OPTIMISED FOR THIS TYPE OF PROJECT WHERE THE SPEED OF DATA ACQUISITION IS CRUCIAL.
