THE PROPOSAL IS BASED ON THE CONSIDERATION THAT ONLY AROUND 30 % IN CURRENT VEHICLES IS TURNED INTO USEFUL POWER. THE EXPLOITATION OF PART OF THAT 60 % ENERGY DISSIPATE IN HYBRID VEHICLES BY BLENDING THE THERMAL ENGINE WITH ONE OR MORE ELECTRIC MOTORS AND AN ACCUMULATION SYSTEM. ALTHOUGH THE HYBRID VEHICLES ARE © THE HYBRID VEHICLES, THERE IS CONSIDERABLE SCOPE FOR IMPROVEMENT IF THE VEHICLE IS SEEN AS AN INTEGRATED ENERGY SYSTEM. THE OBJECTIVE OF THE UNIT OF RESEARCH (UDR) IS THE DEVELOPMENT OF COMPONENTS AND ARCHITECTURES ALLOWING SUCH INTEGRATION TO REDUCE CONSUMPTION AND EMISSIONS AT COMPETITIVE COSTS. THE UDR PROVIDES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THREE INTERDISCIPLINARY PROJECTS AND STRONG INTERACTION WITH EACH OTHER. THEY CORRESPOND TO THE THREE MAIN SUBSYSTEMS OF THE HYBRID ARCHITECTURE: 1) ACCUMULATION; (2) REHABILITATION (3) ENERGY MANAGEMENT.
