Digital Conversion Growth plans

Empowering SMEs in Southern Denmark through Tailored Digital Strategies

Overview: The Digital Conversion-Growth Plans project supports over 80 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Southern Denmark by providing customized assistance to develop effective digital business strategies. By offering expertise and co-financing, the initiative helps these companies enhance their online presence, expand into new markets, and create jobs.

Objectives:

  1. Enhance Digital Competence: Equip SMEs with the necessary tools and knowledge to establish a robust digital footprint.
  2. Facilitate Market Expansion: Enable businesses to reach new national and international markets through improved digital strategies.
  3. Stimulate Economic Growth: Drive job creation and increase turnover within the SME sector by leveraging digital transformation.

Key Features:

  • Tailored Consultancy: SMEs engage in a 3- to 9-month program with a consultant of their choice to receive a comprehensive digital makeover.
  • Flexible Approach: The program adapts to each business's unique needs, focusing on areas such as developing digital business models, crafting digital marketing plans, or implementing intelligent production strategies.
  • Financial Support: Participating companies receive co-financing grants of up to EUR 14,425 to realize their digital ambitions.

Target Audience:

  • Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises: Businesses in Southern Denmark seeking to enhance their digital capabilities and market reach.
  • Industry Consultants: Professionals providing digital strategy development and implementation services.
  • Regional Economic Development Agencies: Organizations aiming to boost local economic growth through SME support.

Impact: As of January 2020, 58 companies had completed the program, leading to the creation of approximately 160 new jobs, an increase in turnover by EUR 21.1 million, and the generation of new exports worth EUR 12.85 million. For instance, a health and dietary supplement manufacturer improved its digital presence, attracting 35,000 website visitors in three months—double the previous rate—and developed a social media strategy targeting customers in Germany and Norway.

Recognitions and Awards: While specific awards for this project are not documented, Denmark's commitment to digital growth is evident through initiatives like the Digital Growth Strategy 2025, which aims to position the country as a digital frontrunner. Engineering.dk
