The growth boost

Service exports have increased steadily in recent years. Swedish foreign trade takes place to 60 % with countries within the EU, partly due to the lack of trade barriers and traditions. Rapidly emerging economies are changing the balance of the world economy. While many Western countries are experiencing growth problems, economies in Asia are growing rapidly. This creates new competitive conditions in the global markets. This places great demands on companies’ capacity for internationalisation. The overall goal of the project is to support and develop the region’s small and medium-sized enterprises so that more companies reach/expand their market internationally. This will be done through customised advice, access to qualified business coaching, networks and increased contacts with academia. Other goals are increased value added among the participating companies and companies increase their turnover and employees during the project period as well as improved profitability. The consultative approach that has been used and developed in the advice of the previous projects will be retained in the new project. However, several new tools and working methods will be added. Special focus will be on: Internationalisation in market-established companies but also increased contacts between academia and companies and theme-based advice to groups of entrepreneurs. The project will include increased elements of entrepreneurs as advisors to each other within the framework of groups and advice to a group of people from the same company. The methods within the Growthlift are expected to give the entrepreneur a company-oriented and structured model to work on themselves in their growth work after the project. Management is expected to have been better prepared to handle change and better understand how to work with your own learning. The project also contributes to insights into the benefits of taking advantage of external competence and teaching SME companies to use external consultants, researchers and students in their development work. Companies’ efforts to develop their business models create new opportunities to meet global competition and internationalisation.
