Preliminary study: Sustainable travel

The overall goal of the project is that car traffic in Eastern Sweden has decreased in favour of travel with sustainable transport modes, which strengthens the competitiveness of companies and increases their ability to supply skills. The project goal is that an action plan for efficient and feasible Mobility Management measures in the Örebro region is developed that can easily be docked in collaborations, projects and measures in Eastern Sweden. Mobility Management is about changing travellers’ attitudes and behaviors through so-called soft actions such as behavioral changes. Region Örebro County intends to conduct a feasibility study to see how to create a platform for Mobility Managment work in the county but also in Eastern Central Sweden in the future. Good examples will be compiled based on the needs of participating municipalities, and from there there will be a match in what measures could be relevant. It’s gonna happen through a couple of workshops. At the end of the project, there will be an action plan to start a coordinated Mobility Management work in the Örebro region. The long-term effects of this work will result in the coordination of travel limiting the number of trips, their length and the need for motorised travel and the use of sustainable modes of transport such as bicycle and public transport in Eastern Sweden.
