The overall goal of the project is to strengthen the innovative renewal and growth capacity for innovative companies in Eastern Sweden through improved use of the region’s innovative environments and their specialisations. The specific project goal is to increase the number of innovative companies with a turnover over SEK 100 million. The project is conducted in collaboration between Science Parks and Incubators in Östra Mellansverige. With joint method development work, the actors’ methods are developed and specialised to identify and support the business development of innovative companies with high growth potential. The project is divided into three phases, where the first aims to consolidate collaboration between all the parties involved, and to inventory methods and competencies. In the second phase, in active collaboration between the actors, methods for deal-flow, coaching and support are tested in a number of pilots with high potential. In the third phase, the aim is to establish a lasting platform for collaboration according to the smart specialisation principle. Small companies with growth potential are involved in the project as recipients of the efforts that the project delivers while larger, innovative companies and business clusters are a resource for the project. The project will result in a new, joint approach and offering aimed at the most promising innovative growth companies. The cross-regional approach is expected to make the region Sweden’s best when it comes to utilising and developing new and existing growth companies, regardless of which county they are native to. The project also aims to increase the return of fou investments and thus contribute to a smarter Europe.
