The overall goal of the project is to create a strong research and innovation area and regional clusters in digital manufacturing, sustainable construction and 3D technology in the region. The project aims to create an open innovation environment that strengthens R & D collaboration between the region’s companies in the basic industry (wood and construction industry), creative industries (architecture, design, ICT) universities and research institutes in digital manufacturing, sustainable construction and 3D technology. The sub-targets of the project are as follows: Create new products and service innovations, – develop new methods for knowledge development, knowledge exchange and open innovation processes, – create a specialised open innovation lab/makerspace where basic industries, cretative industries and researchers meet, – create a unique bestbed for materials and product development in wood-based materials for additive manufacturing (AT). — Through a norm-critical approach and a clear gender mainstreaming, create a creative and dynamic environment characterised by diversity and innovation. The project’s activities are carried out in the form of eight WPs, where the local business community collaborates with the university and the partners. The project activities consist of applied research, knowledge transfer in the form of networks, seminars and workshops, development, testing and verification of new materials within AT and the development of prototypes both in collaboration between companies and in individual companies. In the long term, the project is expected to have created new collaborations between the business community in the region and the university in the areas of additive and digital manufacturing.
