In Eastern Sweden there is great potential in the energy area, but there is no tradition and competence among companies in the region to work systematically with energy efficiency. The feasibility study intends to map and describe initiatives that could strengthen the existing work and look at how a competence centre could constitute an arena for energy efficiency in industries proposed by the preliminary study. The regional business sector actively participates through funding and participation in the steering group and by being the subject of interviews. The feasibility study is expected to provide a clear plan for how the work on energy efficiency in SME can be developed through regional cooperation between private and public actors. A future center could clarify the resources available for work with energy efficiency and capture good projects in a more robust structure than today.
