The Regional Innovation Internationalisation Project (TRIIP)

The overall objectives of the project are: The region must have built a culture among young innovative companies to develop an internationally competitive product packaging early on and in collaboration build up the expertise and experience of working in an international market and that these companies actively share their experiences with others and are a living part of the region’s storytelling and attractiveness. The project goal is: That a number of young innovative companies from the region will develop an internationally competitive product package and gain concrete experience of operating in an international market and thereby building up a new regional competence platform for international business. The project’s milestones include: — that a number of young innovative companies from the region will develop an internationally competitive product package. — that a number of young innovative companies will gain concrete experiences of operating in an international market and thereby build new regional competence and platform for international business. — that awareness and competence has been built up among the participating companies to seek and collaborate with international clusters and innovation environments in order to constantly develop their business and create new competitive offerings in an international market. Approach Future Position X view of dynamic business development is through the so-called Value Star. The approach opens up for creative, cross-border meetings. An important step will be to package various cluster companies’ services to new offers primarily for an international market where you work with matchmaking as a tool. By taking advantage of the international contacts and networks built up, FPX can offer specific market channels, workplaces and market knowledge from around 20 different emerging markets around the world. Activities The activities will consist of an introductory programme of seminars and workshops on product packaging and internationalisation as well as gender-conscious leadership. Companies that move forward in the process are establishing an action plan. Companies that participate will also act as good role models and contribute to regional storytelling. Furthermore, the project is working with coaching, exchanges of experience and knowledge transfer through learning processes and meetings with international companies/clusters/environments. In the latter part of the project, companies will develop internationally competitive product packaging with the help of coaching from the project. Regional business participation In the ongoing work of FPX and Movexum, there is close contact with a large number of companies in the regional business sector and through these processes the need for support in internationalisation work has crystallised. At various seminars and workshops in 2014, the need for internationalisation has been discussed with different groups of entrepreneurs to develop proposals for methods and how to work together on the issue. Expected results and benefits – At least 60 companies participate in the first steps of overall understanding and product packaging – of which at least 40 companies are expected to proceed after self-assessment – At least 20 companies go through the entire project and have thus taken significant steps in their ability to compete in the international market in project completion. — Created more jobs and a demand for staff coming from other countries and other cultures. Expected long-term effects "The fact that the built-up business development and internationalisation competence has contributed to the start-up of new companies and that more mature companies grow and generate new jobs and thus provide an increased tax basis for municipalities, regions and the state. — The internationalisation of the region’s business and research that the project has contributed to and will continue to contribute to long after the project is completed.
