Sense Smart Region

The overall goal of the project is to increase competence on how information from sensor data, municipal databases and more can be utilised in an understandable way for those who have the need and interest in the information. This work will help to build the system that forms the basis for the architecture behind smart cities/regions. The aim of the project is also to create an international interest that attracts actors who want to test their ideas and solutions in the environment that is being built up. The project is divided into five sub-projects: — Sub-project Research, responsible for Luleå University of Technology – Subprojects Open data, responsible for Umeå Municipality – Subproject Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Head of Cartesia GIS AB – Subproject Data Processing, Head of Ductus Development AB – Subproject Visualisation, Head of North Kingdom Design & Communication AB The work in the five subprojects will lead to the development of applications in collaboration with regional SMFs that utilise the technology developed in the project. The goal is to develop 10 applications. The benefits of the work done in the project should be open to all companies interested and the results will be spread through, among other things, the collaboration with the Swedish Data Society in the North with its network. The goal is to attract 20 companies in addition to those listed in the application during the project.
