The overall goal of the project is to create regional capacity to manage participation in the Vanguard initiative and the Pilot Adma Energy Concept. This enables industrial participation in international innovation collaborations. Goal: The ambition of the Vanguard initiative is to create European re-industrialisation in advanced manufacturing through operational projects. The industrial activities will be carried out by cluster initiatives, research institutes or science parks in the different regions and interim goals 1 with Adma 2016-18 is to coordinate these activities between different industries in Northern between Sweden based on industry-specific conditions. This work will then be synchronised with the other European regions in terms of industrial starting points as well as methodology and working methods in Pilot’s activities. Milestone 3 is that Adma 2016-18 will deal with results and conclusions from the operational activities and involve the political representation for the forwarding of the regional results to the Vanguard initiative. This in close cooperation with Central Sweden. Goal 4 is to ensure documentation and learning. The participation of the regional industry The industrial activities and the pilot’s participation will be carried out by the region’s cluster initiative and Adma 2016-18 is responsible for coordinating efforts with European work. The starting points, implementation and results consistently involve regional business and operations are characterised by industrial ownership. Expected results and benefits For example, access to/part of a network that includes excellence in optimised materials, advanced shaping, energy reduction and materials in manufacturing processes, additive manufacturing, sensor integration, coating and surface treatment. Opportunities for companies to tackle new markets in development projects and reach new end customers and product owners within the existing European value chain. Opportunities for companies in development projects together with companies and research institutes from the other European regions to work in new global markets – Increased number of research maturity and innovative SMEs. Expected long term effects Companies and organisations in advanced manufacturing industry in northern Sweden are integrated in strong European value chains which are globally competitive.
