Hub for broadband issues in Värmland

The overall goal of the project is to increase the conditions for growth, competitiveness and trade by expanding broadband infrastructure in rural and sparsely populated areas. The project goal is to coordinate and optimise the impact (enterprise benefits) of the extensive physical broadband investments made during the next three-year period. The project, together with the physical investments, contributes to the goal of Region Värmland’s Bredband Strategy 2013-2020; is that by 2020, all companies in Värmland must have access to broadband of at least 100 Mbps. Increase the rate of expansion. At least 3 investment projects (regarding local networks) must have been submitted to the Regional Fund before the end of the project period. — Maximise availability for SMEs. The number of establishments of 100 Mbit fibres in sparsely populated areas will be developed thanks to the efforts of this project in the following way (from the existing 26 %): 2016 32 % 2017 38 % 2018 50 %.* – Establish forms of co-operation between Region Värmland (RV) and Länsstyrelsen (Lst), as well as other actors. — Increase stakeholders’ awareness and establish forms of external monitoring and identify future financing opportunities
