3i: Innovation + Industry + Investment = A collaborative platform for growth and regional levelling

A collaborative project led from Uppsala with partners throughout Eastern Sweden. The goal is to establish market complementary efforts based on the industry as a client. This through a unified work process to support the flow of early commercialisation projects in life science, including partnerships with major industries, matching with investors and corporate incubation. The project contributes to the region’s SME gaining industrial competence at an early stage in its product development. The industry can also provide equipment for testing and demonstration. In this way, companies are expected to have better conditions for growth and financing. The project also counteracts the acquisition of SMEs and the ability to remain in Östra Mellansverige. Projects, from academia or SME, will, based on industry’s needs, formulate well-lit product concepts (diagnostics, medical technology, biotechnology tools) or move to the next phase of the development process (drugs).
