The project intends to strengthen the innovation environment at the Production Technology Centre (PTC) in Trollhättan, through the commissioning of equipment for 3D printing in metal and research services linked to this equipment investment. The implementation is divided into four pilot projects based on the specific research areas identified in collaboration with industry. The main target group for the initiative is the region’s manufacturing companies in the aerospace industry and the aim is to increase the competence of 3D printing in metal by participating companies for increased global competitiveness and to increase external research funding. The project will also help to strengthen PTC’s profile as a national arena in 3D printing in metal that offers “open innovation” in a test and demonstration environment.
