In the project, Material Business Center, which is a collaboration platform between companies in established industry, entrepreneurs and academia will be built. Material Business Center will be located in Science Village Scandinavia located between ESS and Max IV. A feasibility study has been conducted where a number of industrial actors have shown an interest in getting involved in Material Business Center. The goal of Material Business Center after the end of the project is that new material-related business, new companies and new operations in existing companies have been created by establishing an organisation that carries out relevant activities for the target group. In the project, a method called ¿Power Hour¿and that has previously been used in Mobile Heights Business Center will be used. The method is that large material companies in the region serve as sounding boards for entrepreneurs. Several large companies must be present at the same time, which means that entrepreneurs get feedback from different companies with different business areas and perspectives. Other activities to be carried out in the project are to market Material Business Center for entrepreneurs and established materials industry both nationally and internationally. At the end of the project, it is expected that a number of start-up companies in materials technology have been initiated, new businesses have been created in the existing materials industry through Material Business Center and that there has been a 30 % increase in women and foreign-born entrepreneurs to a greater extent.
