The goal of the project is to: 1. Market Gävleborg’s and Dalarna’s benefits as attractive regions, environments and partners for the development of technology, knowledge, motivation and ability to meet societal challenges. 2. Create added value (regional benefit) around the Swedish Transport Administration’s demonstration facility for electrification of heavy motor vehicle traffic through innovation. 3. If electric road technology is assessed as sustainable and competitive during the demonstration period, the project will promote the development of E16 as an electric road, and the Gävle-Dala area as an international node for expertise in electric road development. Interim goal – During the demonstrator period of the ¿Elvägsprojekt at E16¿driving a showroom in Sandviken and corresponding operations in Region Gävleborg’s premises in Stockholm – with innovative visualisation solutions as a link between the demonstration facility, the visitor premises in Sandviken and Stockholm and the new host model. — Building a service innovation solution for a host model: bringing the global stakeholders to the business model. In order to achieve the project’s goals, different R & D initiatives must be initiated and coordinated. Collaboration will take place with the actors in Gävleborg’s innovation system. The development of new products and services and innovation is intended to be carried out in the form of meetings and company visits for needs and idea scouting. In addition, a number of seminars/workshops and Elvägs konferenser will be held. Expected results and effects include a tested and evaluated host model. The project estimates that at least 100 companies should have been offered the opportunity to participate in innovation activities and seminars/workshops where 5 project ideas/innovations should have been generated for/from SME in the region and one of these has moved on to investigation/pre-study during the project period. In the longer term, for example, more and better stores, export products and services in e.g. GIS, ITS, materials technology, sensors, operation and maintenance have been created.
