Green North

The project is a collaborative project between Umeå University, Luleå University of Technology, MTC AB and Formsmedjan AB. The purpose of the project is to make the environmental technology industry in Northern Norrland stronger and more efficient. To create an innovation and resource platform that will stimulate the development of environmental technology. The project is divided into different sub-goals where, among other things, work to introduce new approaches for development work between SME, the university and society, implement a number of application projects and strengthen SME through skills increase and specialisation. Green North as an innovation and resource platform is expected to develop into a well-known brand in the region, nationally and internationally. Green North will be associated with forward-sighted environmental products and services, transparent and efficient processes that support collaboration in business development and innovation. For regional business, Green North contributes to increased competitiveness through better research links, more efficient development processes and broader networks. Green North also gives the region a higher degree of self-sufficiency in the field of expertise.
