The aim is to strengthen food companies as well as food and food experience companies on Gotland so that the processing rate and employment increase. The aim of the feasibility study is to develop the question of how to achieve a functioning exchange of knowledge and development work between our companies on Gotland, publicity and researchers at the University and research institutes. The preliminary study will answer the questions what is important to continue working with and how this can be most appropriate. The feasibility study is expected to create a basis for doing the right things in the continued work. By identifying what efforts are needed forward and how to implement them in order to create growth in the food processing companies on Gotland. The feasibility study will result in an operator using the feasibility study to write a project application to the Regional Fund. The expectation is that a model for collaboration between SLU, Uppsala University and at least two research institutes and companies on Gotland is available and may be tested slightly during the short pre-study phase. The model for collaboration will support the development of sustainable companies from all three aspects environmentally, economically and socially. In the longer term, it is seen that Gotland food processing companies have strengthened and that the Gotland food companies are at the forefront of new sustainable technologies, new trends and new sustainable methods. That this in turn has generated a strong growth in the food processing companies of Gotland. There is a great will in the companies, so even if this is just a feasibility study, it is expected to provide tools that are beneficial to the companies.
